As another year draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the pieces that truly defined my handmade wardrobe in 2025. You know the ones! The garments you reach for again and again, that feel so you, and that remind you why you love sewing in the first place.
This year was all about comfort, versatility, and (no surprises here) prints. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned about my sewing style, it’s this: I don’t do plain, I love a print! Bold florals, playful patterns, and eye catching fabrics have been the stars of my sewing room, and every make listed below reflects that.

Tilly & the Buttons: Mabel, Nell, Noa & Zadie

Tilly & the Buttons patterns continue to be firm favourites for good reason. Each of these designs has slotted seamlessly into my everyday wardrobe.
- Mabel is an easy win for comfort-meets-style.
- Nell brings effortless structure with endless fabric possibilities.
- Noa is the ultimate throw-on-and-go piece.
- Zadie remains a classic — practical, flattering, and perfect for statement prints.
These patterns are the backbone of my me-made wardrobe and prove just how wearable handmade clothes can be.
Nina Lee: Bakerloo Dress

The Bakerloo Dress is one of those patterns that makes you feel instantly put together. With its clean lines and flattering silhouette, it’s a dream canvas for a standout print, and I’ve worn mine more times than I can count.
S.O. Dressmaking: Emily Dress

The Emily Dress ticks all my boxes: comfortable, stylish, and endlessly versatile. Whether dressed up or worn casually, it’s one of those designs that just works, especially when paired with a fabric that brings the drama. I need to make more to include ruffles!
Tammy Handmade: Faye Blouse

The Faye Blouse deserves a special mention. Light, floaty, and perfect for showcasing a beautiful print, it’s a piece that instantly lifts an outfit. I can already see this one staying in rotation well beyond 2025.
Deer & Doe: Orage Dress

Orage is a pattern I truly fell in love with a few years ago and I make a new one each year. Elegant yet wearable, it has that magic combination of structure and ease that makes it perfect for special occasions.
What These Makes Say About My Sewing Style
Looking back at these garments, a few themes stand out:
- I prioritise comfort without sacrificing style
- I love patterns that earn their keep
- And above all, I’ll always choose a print over plain
These are clothes made to be worn, lived in, and loved — not just admired on a hanger.
