My 1st Christmas Dress ever made!!! Say what!!

Now for some reason, I have never made myself or my family members anything Christmas related clothing and you ask why….well I can honestly say I don’t know!!

But hopefully that will change now!

I know some more selfish sewing…. Yeah but you have to make sure that the fabric is ah okay…right? ?

I’ve made myself a Gingerbread Man DixieDiy Ballet Dress!

As you will probably know from my previous post regarding this pattern it is super simple easy sew and especially it being made in Jersey no need to finish the seams! Gotta love shortcuts!

But for this one, I decided to use my Singer Overlocker to sew the dress and you know what it’s fabulous! Why haven’t I used my Overlocker to make this before! I only switched to my Sewing machine to install some in-seam Pockets and Elastic but for the majority of the see I did on the Overlocker and it gives such a fantastic professional finish.

So here we are one Gingerbread Man Christmas Dress!

It has got a lot wear out of it already! perfect for lazy Saturdays round at my mum and dads.

I also wore this to my work’s Christmas party and it was fab it looked really well with my chunky bow heels and black tights and I was comfortable in it all night….I was one of the last ones to leave!!! ?

A big Thank to Fabric Styles of sponsering me the Gingerbread Man Jersey. It may not be the thickest of Jerseys but for only £4.50 a metre and being 57″ wide it’s a steal!! So get your mits on them before it gets sold out!!

Now then Sewing friends, have you guys made any Christmas themed clothing or even Gifts?

  1. Your dress looks fab, I love that fabric, perfect for xmas. Lots of other people think so too as they were out when I followed the link to buy some (I had to accidentally buy some snowman tartan instead)

    1. At least you got an alternative ?

  2. This is adorable! Gingerbread men will forever be my favourite theme for Christmas fabric…or Christmas anything for that matter 😀

And how great is it that not only does it look fantastic but it looks super comfy too. Perfect for all the overeating (and drinking!) that happens on Christmas day.
