Hello!

My Sewing Mojo has gone a little awol so if you do see it please tell it to get it’s ass back home!

So I decided to make myself a cute little companion whilst I’m sewing, plus it breaks up the norm of making clothes for a change!

I received the Rose Pin Cushion Pattern many moons ago from the lovely Michelle of Michelle Patterns and for some reason I haven’t tackled it till now! Bad Sally! But i think I’ve done it justice though!

This pattern is a great stash buster as it doesn’t require a lot of fabric at all. So I raided my Stash and found these beauties of cotton that i purchased from B and M Fabrics in Leeds earlier on in the year. Who can say no to Swallows, Bows and Polka Dots, very retro!

Now if you don’t have any batting you can use fleece instead but that is a separate piece you need to print here as it isn’t included in the original pdf but no worries, you now know where to find it 🙂 I had plenty of Batting as i bought loads when i made the kids their Advent Calendar last year and with the intention of making my own handbag but just never got round to that either!!

You really do have to refrain from overfilling the Petals as it’s all too easy to say “I need more” but it really doesn’t as it puffed out underneath. So please listen to Michelle’s instructions!

You can see this coming to life really quickly and it is a very satisfying sew as it is really pretty, I love the rose and leave details! A very cleaver pattern indeed and it doesn’t take you ages either, i completed mine in an afternoon even when i confused myself with making the strap, i had a total blonde moment I sewn the band the wrong way round and it didn’t turn out to the right side, doh!!

So here it is, sitting so pretty on my wrist with and without pins, I can’t seem to take it off even when I’m not Sewing! Hahaha!

A big thank you to Michelle at Michelle Patterns on letting me have this fantastic pattern to review, i can see myself making these for a few sewing buddies for Christmas!

Happy Stitching!
