A girly sewing weekend away at Teescreatives!

Now the title says it all!

As you will probably know I am out numbered in my household with being the only female and when the lovely Carol aka Chatterstitch and her daughter Vicky aka sewstainability invited both myself and Becca aka Redwsews to Carol’s prize of the use of Teescreatives premises for the weekend which included 2 bedrooms both with 2 beds in each, kitchen and of course a loo and shower then also to have a dedicated cutting room and a sewing room which held 6 machines which were a mix of janome sewing machines and overlockers with also a dedicated pressing area.

Can you tell i was ready hahaha!!

I arrived about 10.30pm where to be honest was a little be rowdy but it’s to be expected for a Friday night in Middlesbrough.

It’s great base too as the Tesco express is a 2 minute walk away and if you need your Wetherspoon fix it’s practically next door.

Jen’s salon is below and you wouldn’t of known as you couldn’t hear it at all.

On the Saturday night we enjoyed a delicious meal at local Turkish restaurant which was a stone’s throw away also.

We all got plenty of sewing and chatting done I even managed to get my Derwent pants cut out and sewn, Winnants tank cut out and sewn the top at the sides and installed the band’s at home and then finally I got my bodice completed of the cocowawa honeycomb dress which I’m pretty impressed that I did the burrito method correctly after pestering the girls to make sure I had the pieces right before sewing in place ?

Now on any sewing adventure you can not have a good brew of tea and chocolate digestives on hand!

On our last day we have a lovely catch up with Jen and Laura of Cotton Reel Studios who both run Teescreatives and where we also enjoyed egg free cake too! Nom nom!

So in all it was a fab weekend away with good company ?

Here are my 3 Garments that i started! Wendy Ward Derwent Cropped Trousers, Winnants Tank and Cocowawa Crafts Honeycomb Dress.

I’m thinking I need more sewing breaks like this one!!
