#Linden Swap 2016

Hi all! I can finally share my Linden Sweatshirt that I made for Sarah as a part of the Linden Swap on Instagram.

When I saw Victoria aka sew yourown‘s post on Instagram about getting involved in making a Linden Sweatshirt for someone else for Christmas, I couldn’t say no as I do love a challenge!

Lucy from Sew Essential got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to have some supplies to have a play with, of course you don’t say no do you?!

Thankfully, I came across this beautiful John Kaldor Isabella Wool Mix Jersey Fabric in Violet whilst stalking my Linden Swap Partner Sarah aka Sairz123 on her Instagram feed, I’ve seen her in plenty of navy and teal and thought going for the Violet would suit her to the ground as she has quite similar colour tastes to me! Also not forgetting the Linden Sweatshirt Pattern itself!

I must say this fabric is absolutely beautiful! To say its a Wool mix, It’s so soft and snuggly and not at all itchy in my opinion and with it being a whopping 170cm wide, you can really make good use of the width and get plenty out the fabric! Yay!!

Now this is one quick sew, I managed to get this cut and sewn in a day, the only fiddly bit is getting the neck binding in right and with trying not to over stretch it but I think it managed to get it quite ok!

Here’s few pics of it on ‘Dorris’ before it was wrapped up with love and sent to Sarah.

Here it is all wrapped up and then sent on it’s little way to Sarah!

I’m so relived that Sarah likes it and that it fits her! That’s one thing I wasn’t quite keen on with the not knowing if it was going to fit or not!

But here’s a sneaky pic from her Instagram Account looking very festive with her matching Party Hat!

Now I’ve received my Linden from Daisy_crumpet but unfortunately she is no longer on Instagram and she has made me quite a ‘Loud’ Linden. I love the little Cupcake brooch she made too!

It Does fit me but I’m not a fan of the ‘Cropped’ version of the Sweatshirt, so it will be my knocking around the house Top with some joggers.

A very Big Thank you to Lucy at Sew Essential of providing me the materials to make the Linden! So make sure you go and check out their beautiful range of fabrics and haberdashery at very reasonable prices!

Sal xx
