Hello, my lovelies! It’s that time of year again—time to plan my #MakeNine2025 challenge! If you’re not familiar, #MakeNine is an Instagram challenge where sewists choose nine projects they’d love to make in the coming year. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to set sewing goals, and I’m thrilled to share my picks for 2025.

This year, I’m focusing on a mix of garments and accessories that will elevate my handmade wardrobe. Here’s what I’ll be stitching up:

1. Emily Dress by S.O. Sew Dressmaking

A gorgeous, floaty dress that’s perfect for both casual and dressy occasions. I’m thinking of using a lightweight floral viscose for a dreamy, romantic vibe. I love that this pattern offers different neckline options, including V-neck, square, and round, as well as the option to add ruffles and choose from different sleeve styles. It’ll be so much fun customising it to my personal style! For this version, I’ll be using this beautiful wild roses floral viscose, which will add a lovely, delicate touch.

2. Nina Lee Bakerloo Dress

I’ve been eyeing this pattern for ages! That statement collar and voluminous sleeves are just too good to resist. I’ll be making mine in a striking statement floral print—perfect for layering through the seasons.

3. Closet Core T-Shirt

A classic wardrobe staple! I want to perfect my knit-sewing skills with this pattern, and I’ll be making a few versions in different colours to mix and match with my handmade wardrobe.

4. Noodlehead Haralson Bag

I love a good bag project, and the Haralson Bag is such a stylish yet practical choice. I’ve already got my Tuesday’s Child kit ready, so I can’t wait to see this one come together!

5. Jennifer Lauren Handmade Luna Set

Comfort is key, and this set is perfect for lounging in style. I’m planning a soft, breathable cotton version—ideal for lazy weekends and cosy evenings. For this version, I’ll be using this stunning tiger toile cotton in navy and gold, which will add a bold and luxurious feel to the set.

6. In Complete Stitches Midnight Sun Bag

Another bag? Yes, please! This one has such a unique design, and I’m excited to challenge myself with some new construction techniques.

7. Waves and Wild Wonder Undies

A comfy and stylish pair of underwear that will be both practical and fun to sew. I’ll be choosing soft and breathable fabric for everyday comfort.

8. Tilly and the Buttons Drew Jumper

I love a good cosy jumper, and this one looks like a fantastic layering piece. For this version, I’ll be using this adorable multi-love heart French terry fabric along with offcuts of plain coloured French terry to really make it pop!

9. Tilly and the Buttons Mabel Dress

A versatile woven dress that can be dressed up or down—yes, please! I’ll be using a beautiful cotton or linen for a breezy yet stylish look. This is a tried-and-true pattern for me as you can see in a previous post, and I’m so excited to be making my fourth version of it!

I’m so excited to tackle these makes in 2025! Have you planned your #MakeNine yet? Let me know what you’re sewing this year, and don’t forget to follow along on Instagram for updates on my progress.

Happy sewing!

Love, The Yorkshire Sewist xx
